Out damned spot!

How do they sleep at night?

With blood on their hands from the illegal war of Iraq... I'm talking about Bush and his highly-dependable proxy, Blair.

They say as Blair bids goodbye to Downing Street, his legacy is the UK's present economic prosperity, and an enlightened Britain.

Why is little mentioned about his role in Iraq and its aftermath?

This must be Blair's legacy as UK's PM.

Iraq today is deeply divisive, with sections of it living in constant fear. And it is often being used as propaganda by those who wish to spill more blood.
Meanwhile, the lives of British and American soldiers are being put at risk, daily.

But wait.. as Blair makes his way out, there appears a tinge of remorse, and he may be planning to wash off the blood stains of Iraq in his freshly-minted role as UK's envoy to the Middle East and peace-maker. What should one make of it?

Personally, I believe it will be a role that will make or break the true legacy of Blair. He's still young. Still driven. Still equipped with the wit and charm of a truly charismatic and effective leader. He may have something there. For this war against terror popularly-branded as Muslim-based, may be fueled by what's happening in Palestine. Can the often-touted but elusive '2-state solution' be that much-needed antidote or panacea to end the war?

The idealogical warfare needs a good back-up.

We'll see.

how about Bush's latest attempt at addressing anti-americanism? an envoy to the OIC, to tell the people what? you shouldn't hate us, even though our immigration officers will give you a terrible time at the airport, so terrible you'd wish that the plane had just turned round midway and went back home, just because?

little has been mentioned about his role in Iraq because that is solely Bush's screw up. cannot dilute nor share the enormity of the f*&k up.

well, i agree with you. there's still time for him and his church's shoes.

we will see indeed.

And may Blair speak in beautiful terms the promises which Bush and the US government will break...again.

Much as I want Blair to succeed, and much as I wish a solution to the Palestinian problem, I don't think one man, even one who has helped bring the Northern Irish together, can do much especially in the current atmosphere. The boat sailed away long ago.
